The Eyes of Our Soul

Ms. Register is a dentist, and oh she has stories!  I love that your profession doesn’t have to define you, that your income level doesn’t define you, that even our past mistakes and present challenges are not supposed to define who we are meant to become.  Okay, that’s enough waxing eloquent from this very non-poet; I’ll let Ms. Register do the rest! THE EYES OF OUR SOUL

 by K. L. REGISTER

Emotions, frustrations, confrontations, and situations

Can often lead us down a pathway

An erroneous pathway, never meant to be traveled

And we sometimes forget about the true happiness we shared with our loved one,

       prior to the situation

And we begin to let anger

Fuel our motivation

Oh, this intensifying anger

It can cause us to express

Our individualized words

With such passion and deep rage

That during that moment…instance…second

The love we possessed for the other person seems to disappear

But thereafter,

After our adrenaline rush has come to an end

It is then…that

The eyes of our soul become awakened

And we realize

We have made a mistake

And simultaneously,

Our suppressed feelings, good intentions, and undying love reappear

Hoping and praying that our loved one

Is stronger

And willing to FORGIVE…
