Whoa!  (Or is it, Woe?!?)

wood 2Perhaps it’s both.  Haven’t heard much about road rage lately, but I’m wondering if that’s because it’s just become so commonly a part of our culture that it’s no longer considered news-worthy.  Anger is a powerful human emotion, and one of the destructively deceptive things about anger is that we feel like we’re in control (in many ways akin to alcohol).  But usually, 9 times out of 10, we probably are not.

There was an occasion in my job when I had an encounter with a parent in which I had decided ahead of time to attempt to communicate in the way she chose to communicate with me.  Up to that point, her mode of interaction had Continue reading “Whoa!  (Or is it, Woe?!?)”

The Eyes of Our Soul

quill

Ms. Register is a dentist, and oh she has stories!  I love that your profession doesn’t have to define you, that your income level doesn’t define you, that even our past mistakes and present challenges are not supposed to define who we are meant to become.  Okay, that’s enough waxing eloquent from this very non-poet; I’ll let Ms. Register do the rest! THE EYES OF OUR SOUL

 by K. L. REGISTER

Emotions, frustrations, confrontations, and situations

Can often lead us down a pathway

An erroneous pathway, never meant to be traveled

And we sometimes forget about the true happiness we shared with our loved one,

       prior to the situation

And we begin to let anger

Fuel our motivation

Oh, this intensifying anger

It can cause us to express

Our individualized words

With such passion and deep rage

That during that moment…instance…second

The love we possessed for the other person seems to disappear

But thereafter,

After our adrenaline rush has come to an end

It is then…that

The eyes of our soul become awakened

And we realize

We have made a mistake

And simultaneously,

Our suppressed feelings, good intentions, and undying love reappear

Hoping and praying that our loved one

Is stronger

And willing to FORGIVE…

Beware of Old ladies with B-I-G Bibles

wood 2

Anger is not usually very pretty, but let’s face it, it can sometimes be quite entertaining.  Case in point:

…or maybe it’s just my skewed sense of humor….

It would be obvious to even the casual celestial alien observer that human anger frequently takes us by surprise.  And usually causes damage.  Sometimes irreparably so.   God says this about our wrath:

“…for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.”

With that in mind, I’m disappointed in how God’s wrath takes such a bum rap in the Old Testament. His is seen through our very self-serving and self-centered interpretation, based on our own emotional responses.  This is likewise dangerous, because God’s anger is not Continue reading “Beware of Old ladies with B-I-G Bibles”
