Tends toward TMI, so here's the short list: guitar and banjo (both of which have been much neglected as of late), bicycling (ibid), dogs, very black tea, and contemplating and commenting on deep philosophical thoughts about which I have had no academic or professional training. Oh, also reading, writing, but I shy away from arithmetic.

Reblogged this on Call to Witness and commented:
It is so easy for followers of Christ to get caught up with this world and be a part of it. Yet as this passage reveals, this world is not our world. If it was than it would follow God’s will and fear the Lord. Therefore, we need to stop looking to the world for guidance as far living life is concerned, but seek God has said in His Word in order to find guidance for God-honoring behavior.

I agree with placing the emphasis on the Lord, but I doubt the politicians do anymore. Our country needs a return to its Christian heritage and values. Yes it is often said, but never done. We need to acknowledge the Lord as King and ruler of this and all nations, but good luck with that the way things are going in America and around the world! It is a sad state of affairs…
